Reshoots and more!

Most of my filming was wrapped up two days ago, but there was still more work to be done. Due to unpleasant weather conditions, some of my original shots weren't up to my standards. The grey sky made many shots appear dreary and didn't fit into my imagined commercials warm, sunny. I decided it would be a wasted effort to reshoot all of it, as a simple video filter can achieve that bright look. However, for the scenery shots that displayed the sky, it was crucial to me that the sun was shown. So today, I re-recorded those clips. I also realized most of my commercial was shot close-up, to better show the details of the product. Decidedly, I added took some long and middle shots of my set, my backyard, to add more variety to the commercial.

For the past few days, this project has been stuck at the back of my mind. Every time I come across a new commercial on TV, I get countless new ideas or additions to add to my commercial. One idea I've had is to include a sequence of shots that sync up with the music that will be added in editing. My thought was to take some shots of bottles being opened, and pair them up with the beats of the background song! It will be a complex editing task for my inexperienced self, however, I still want to record the shots. Throughout the next few days, I can figure out the logistics of it all! I just feel it's crucial to incorporate some more unique elements into this project, and really exercise all the things I've been learning in this class.

Speaking of editing, I have been researching more on the process! It's not final, but I believe I will be using CapCut as it seems simplest to operate. I will be sure to get advice from some peers to find out if they know any better! For the editing of my video, I scoured the web and acquired the sound effect I was looking for, the twisting of the bottle. This sound effect will add some more depth to the commercial, and enhance the product, making it feel more real to viewers.

With the due date approaching, I will be very busy finalizing my commercial this weekend. I hope to figure out the editing process and bring my ideas to life. More to come!
