Working the Camera
After preparing for costumes I feel the next step in production is working on the filming equipment. While my two previous media studies projects were also filmed on a phone, I feel for this next one I need to perfect this medium. This opening sequence will require a far more professional look, and it's time I adjust my filming process and make some changes.
To start, I researched different techniques and tips for filming on an iPhone. I learned about lighting, angles, composition, and editing techniques that could help me create a professional-looking film. Next, I experimented with different camera apps to find the one that worked best for me. I also invested in some additional equipment, including a tripod and external microphone, to improve the quality of my footage.
I spent time scouting locations and thinking about how I wanted to frame each shot. I experimented with different angles and perspectives to create visual interest and tell the story in a compelling way.
During filming, I focused on capturing a variety of shots, including close-ups, wide shots, and medium shots, to create a sense of depth and immersion. I also paid attention to the lighting and made adjustments to ensure that the footage looked consistent and visually appealing. After filming, I spent time editing the footage on my iPhone using various editing apps. I experimented with different transitions, filters, and music to create a cohesive and engaging final product.
Overall, the process of filming a short film on an iPhone was challenging but also incredibly rewarding. It required me to be resourceful, creative, and adaptable, and it allowed me to create something unique and personal.
I am excited to continue exploring the possibilities of iPhone filmmaking and to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with this versatile tool. This experience has taught me that with a little creativity and a lot of dedication, anything is possible. Now that I have overcome this step in production, my filming days are coming closer!
